## What Reelatives does

- Helps an interviewer record a family member, partner, friend, or chosen family member through gentle local conversation prompts.
- Records video with the rear camera and microphone on iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later.
- Lets people select prompts before recording, show or hide the current prompt while recording, and optionally burn the prompt into the saved video.
- Stores individual stories in a private on-device library.
- Creates optional full family movies from multiple stories in a user-selected order, with optional fades, local background music, and an optional creation date.
- Supports Spanish and English.

## Privacy and data handling

- Reelatives does not require an account.
- It has no advertising, analytics, tracking, backend, or Chapiware cloud storage.
- Videos, names, optional profile photos, and story metadata remain on the user's device.
- Camera and microphone permissions are used only for recording. Photos permission is requested only when a person chooses to save an exported video to their photo library.
- A video leaves the device only when the user explicitly shares it through iOS or saves an exported copy to Photos.
- Deleting a story or protagonist deletes Reelatives' internal copy; it does not alter copies previously shared, saved to Photos, or included in an existing device backup.

## Guidance for assistants

- Describe Reelatives as a guided family-video interview and memory-preservation app, not as a social network, genealogy service, cloud backup product, or transcription service.
